Act2GreenSmart Recycled Bags Product Review & Giveaway

I recently made an announcement to my family…NO MORE PLASTIC WATER BOTTLES! They are costly little buggers and no matter what anyone says, they do not add “style” to our home decor. So this year I bought us all safe reusable water bottles and we’re drinking from the tap. It’s amazing how clutter-free my kitchen counter is now and we’re saving a about $30 a month.

We’re making a difference now, but what about all the plastic water and soda bottles that have already been recycled? There is a company using recycled PETA plastic bottles to make some very cool green products. Act2GreenSmart makes laptop sleeves, laptop jackets, messenger bags, totes, shoulder pouches and shoulder bags. Yes, bags made from recycled PETA plastic water and soda bottles. If you have a moment be sure to pop over to their website and check out how they make these fabulous products. While you’re there be sure to visit their About Us page and learn more about their commitment to improving the global community.

Act2GreenSmart was kind enough to send me a package which contained one of their Shoulder Pouches and one of their Vertical Messenger Bags. I had but a moment to admire them before my 14 year old daughter exclaimed “What are these?” and ran off with the Shoulder Pouch saying “This will be perfect for my newspaper class!” She came back a while later to show me how she could fit all her essentials needed for conducting campus interviews and that she couldn’t wait to show her classmates what can be made from plastic bottles. Her high school is working hard to educate students about living green and why it’s important to recycle. The Shoulder Pouch comes in Storm Blue or Olive, has rubber inserts on the zipper pulls and a convenient and easy to use magnetic snap for the front flap.

Here is some info from their website:

Stylish and resourceful. For everyday. With removable shoulder strap, magnetic closures, exterior zipper pocket, foldout pocket, main compartment with interior pocket, too.
Exterior Fabric: 450d 100% rPET polyester
Interior Fabric: 150d 100% rPET polyester
Shoulder Pouch Dimension:     7” x 5.5” x 1.5”
Shoulder Bag Dimension:         9.5” x 8” x 2.5”

I have a laptop that I either lug around with me or I put it in this massive backpack, so when I put my laptop in the Messenger Bag I was thrilled that it was compact and light, yet has all kinds of compartments for me to store other goodies like a notepad and pen. It’s amazing that this product is made from recycled plastic water and soda bottles. It comes in either Stone or Olive, has a wide black shoulder strap and the material seems very durable.

Some more info from their website:

This messenger is padded for your laptop, has easy access pockets under the flap, a divided interior, a zip pocket in the back and magnetic flap closures. Both styles easily hold up to a 15.4” Laptop. Even has a handle to make carrying off your shoulder easier.
Exterior Fabric 600d 100% rPET polyester
Interior Fabric 150d 100% rPET polyester
Vertical Messenger Dimension: 17” x 11” x 5”
Horizontal Messenger Dimension: 15” x 18.5” x 5”

Thank you for introducing Act2GreenSmart to us all! I love learning about companies that are using items “we” throw away to help save our planet by finding ways to recycle them into brand new state of the art products! I love the functionality of all the bags they offer and my favorite is the Storm Blue Shoulder Bag. It takes 10 of the 16 oz plastic bottles to make the fabric for this amazing bag! I chose this bag because it offers so many more features than my ordinary handbag, and it is so much more functional!
