Birthday In A Box Review and Giveaway

I just love Birthday In A Box. Why? The name says it all – they provide you with everything for a birthday party except the food and the guests at affordable prices! A time and money saver! I’m sold! I actually approached them to see if they’d be interested in having me do a product review and offer a giveaway for my readers. They agreed! So be sure to read past the review and you’ll find out what Birthday In A Box is giving away!
When the box of party goods arrived, I will admit I was pretty excited. You’ll soon read a more colorful story of how I reacted in my 14 yo daughter’s review, but you know how teenagers can be….LOL!
Just look at all this fun stuff! I picked two different themes to review: the Space Party Birthday Box for my son and the Tinkerbell Party Birthday Box for my daughter (yes, the 14 yo) to tie in with the TinkerBell DVD that comes out on October 28th.

The Party Birthday Boxes include supplies for 8 guests: 8 cake plates & cups, 16 napkins, 1 table cover, 1 package of cutlery, balloons, streamers, curling ribbon and it’s topped off with birthday candles. I always forget the birthday candles! You can also add-on things like a personalized birthday banner, which by the way, is huge (15″ x 60″). The images shown just do not do them justice. I would have never guessed how excited my kids were about having a banner with their name on them or that they would look this good. Birthday In A Box can also create personalized birthday invitations and thank you notes. Other add-ons may include party favors, favor boxes, centerpieces, craft activities or even a pinata.
Birthday In A Box also offers tips and resources for party planning. For instance, on each theme page, you’ll see a little Party Planning Guide post it note which provides specific party ideas for that theme like Space or TinkerBell (fairies).
I was very impressed with all Birthday In A Box had to offer, the quality of the products and the user friendly website, but don’t just tke my word for it, why don’t you read my daughter’s and son’s reviews:

Birthday in a Box totally amazed me. I mean, absolutely, utterly, astounded me. Julie, my mom, came bounding into my room saying, “Guess what? Birthday in a Box is sending a personalized Tinker Bell party set to us! It’s personalized with your name!” Wow Mom. Tinker Bell. I didn’t honestly care.
Some time later, a package arrives while I’m walking home from the bus stop and, lucky me, I got to sign that cool UPS thing-a-whatcha-wanna-call-it. I get inside and Mom’s squealing, “It’s the Birthday in a Box!” All I think is: the what? Mom’s going crazy and I have to admit, I felt bad for not remembering what she told me. But I’m a teenager. In one ear, out the other, or something along those lines? So we open it, and this fairly small box is JAMMED with all this cool stuff. Half Tinker Bell, half space stuff. Finally, my interest sparks. Suddenly, I’m the one tearing through the box saying, “Hey Mom, I could have a half birthday or something with this! Tinker Bell themed!”
And then came the banner. Together, Mom and I unrolled it and, BEHOLD! It reads:
Happy Birthday
MackenzieDid that make my day! I don’t really remember any really big parties with banners and streamers and the “whole shabang” that comes in the Birthday in a Box kit. So here I am, sitting on the floor in our living room, already planning my Tinker Bell themed half birthday party (when you’re born on the fourth of July, no-body’s really in town, so half birthdays, maybe quarter birthdays are your best shot…)!
My point is, Birthday in a Box was able to take me back to being a kid – not that I’m so far above being one to start with.
The Tinker Bell set was gorgeous and totally Tinker Bell, in that spunky yet sweet way. I think anyone would be more than – way above even – satisfied with Birthday in a Box. And I can tell you one thing: Never again will I go searching for some crazy, overly priced, split-up party set when I know Birthday in a Box is right there for me with so very many choices!
Note: The “Mom Disclaimer” or whatever it is 100% FALSE! Yes, she was that excited. She gets carried away, then forgets… You can’t help but love her for it!

I don’t usually scan in their reviews, but I just had to with my son. Both kids are honored to write these reviews and actually have a voice of their own. It’s quite an amazing thing to sit back and see from their point of view.
Now for the giveaway, which I’m sure you thought I forgot about with this post being so long! Well I didn’t! Birthday In A Box is graciously giving away two $25 gift certificates for two lucky winners!

I like the hula girl theme, but I know my dd would flip for the Curious George theme with the matching sticker favors. I’d like to win this package since her 3rd birthday is coming up and with the stress of the holidays, it would be nice to have her birthday taken care of with this box!

3) I would love to win because I owe my 2 year old a real birthday party. The day we had planned a small party there was a massive storm and our finished basement flooded. The next several months were filled with nothing but cleanup, dealing with insurance companies, and contractors. The only reason she even got a birthday cake was because a good friend of mine made one for her after I told her how badly I felt that I hadn’t even had time to make her a cake. I would love to win this so I could give her a superb party! She LOVES curious george.

Our family likes the train party theme and the mini bubble party favors.
We’re planning a family day theme party in January to celebrate/remeber my dad. Since he passed we’ve celebrated his birthday as Family Day. It’s a great way to celelbrate his life and help the boys remember him. He loved trains, so this year’s theme is trains.
