Businesses Helping Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Research

Grill Charms Leslie

A good friend of mine, Leslie Haywood - the inventor of the Grill Charms, is a breast cancer survivor and has recently introduced a new Grill Charm Pink Collection with 10% of the proceeds being donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Grill Charms Pink Collection

If you’re wondering what a Grill Charm is then think of a wine charm that helps people determine which glass of wine is theirs. Grill Charms are the same principle, these charms are put in the food being grilled so someone doesn’t end up with the wrong piece. Clever don’t you think? These can be purchased for $19.99 on Grill Charms.

Another friend, Kathy Shelton of Stay Positive Greetings, is also a breast cancer survivor and she created a line of funny greeting cards for women battling not only breast cancer, but other cancers as well.

Stay Positive Greeings

She donates 10% of every sale to the American Cancer Society and Wigs for Kids. These wonderful greeting cards are available at Stay Positive Greetings for $3.50 each and if you order three or more there is a 15% discount.

Some of you might also be familiar with a new drink for pregnant moms, Glow Mama. This company is not only earth friendly, but are also donating $.05 per bottle sold online through the month of October to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Glow Mama

This refreshing and natural drink helps keep pregnant women hydrated and can be purchased on Glow Mama’s online store for just under $2 each. Be sure to enter their giveaway as well which includes a labor and delivery gown, If this Boobs Could Talk book and a box of Luna Berry Almond bars. Deadline is October 27, 2008.

The best prevention though for breast cancer is to regularly check yourself. Are you doing it?

(I did not say anything before now, as with media and press, it’s not a done deal until you see it in print or you see it on the air)  This was live, so I know it happened.  I do have 2 more “scheduled” appearances on two more shows, but I’ll tell you about them when they happen.  One is a local Charleston news program at 5:00 and another is in Myrtle Beach for a morning show.  So this morning I left a full detailed instruction manual for my husband for the day as I needed to be out the door and on the road by 6:30AM.  It went something like this:“7:15 be out the door to take Maddy to school, make sure she has her backpack and orange folder (Morgan will probably still be sleeping, so wake her up as you are about to walk out the door.  She can go in her PJ’s, but make sure she pee’s before you put her in her car seat or you’ll be sorry)  […]
