Whether they are calling it a birthday or anniversary, Google is celebrating its 13th year with a new Google Doodle! I still remember the first days of Google and how word traveled fast about this new search engine with an uncluttered home page.

Who would have thought that 13 years later this little search engine would be so massive and continually introducing amazing products like Google Maps or that their stock would sky rocket? At the time of this writing, it’s sitting pretty at almost $532 per share.

Lucky Wishbone, Anchorage, Alaska’s oldest family-owned restaurant, celebrated their 55th birthday yesterday, November 30, 2010. It is one of those restaurants that mostly only the locals know about and love dearly because of the awesome staff and fantastic food. Growing up, it was a family favorite. Countless times my dad would say, “I’ll buy, if you fly!” Being the smart, young adult that I was, I never turned away free food, especially Lucky Wishbone’s Jumbo Cheeseburger!

We moved back up to Anchorage this summer and guess where we stopped first? You got it! Lucky Wishbone!

Happy 55th Anniversary George and Peggy! Thank you for the fabulous food and wonderful memories!

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful holiday! A special time set aside just for spending time with loved ones and indulging in all the goodies we normally avoid. A time to reflect on our blessings and express our gratitude to others.

This year has definitely seen it’s share of ups and downs testing my family and I’s endurance and convictions. The most challenging being a 4,000 mile relocation from our home of 17 years, especially considering it was from one extreme climate to another. I am continually amazed by the resilience of my children and their passion to jump into new experiences. I love seeing the world through their eyes!

I have certainly been blessed with family and friends who are loving and supportive, a husband who is beyond compare, children who brighten each and every day of my life and a growing fan base of FreeBirthdayTreats.com that keeps me motivated!

Google embraced the Halloween spirit this year and enlisted the help of Scooby Doo and crew in their click through slide show featuring five fun Halloween logos.

While Yahoo! had fun partnering with the Headless Horseman for their Halloween logo.
