Karito Kids Review and Giveaway

Karito Kids

I was more of a tom-boy growing up so I never did understand my girlfriends’ fascination with their dolls, but after having a daughter of my own and watching her play for hours on end with her dolls, I could see her imagination blooming as she created their lives.

Now that she is older, I’m reminded every once in a while that she never got the American Doll that she diligently added to her birthday and Christmas wish lists. So when I had the opportunity to right what she tells me is a wrong, I jumped at the chance to review one of the new Karito Kids.

There are six adorable and fashionably dressed dolls from six different countries: Ling, Pita, Lulu, Zoe, Gia and Piper and according to their website:

Karito Kids highlight the beauty of each ethnic group and depict modern-day life in each country and culture, showing you the similarities shared by kids around the world.

Karito Kids

When little Zoe arrived at our home my daughter just looked at me and said “Now you get a doll like I wanted!” She didn’t show any real interest until I took Zoe out of her box and she got a good look at her fabulously stylish outfit and super cool Converse shoes.

Karito Kid Zoe

She was so impressed that she decided to write her own review. So from her perspective:

Wow! That’s a word that can sum this doll up easy. Or “crazylicious” in Zoe’s words.

Zoe is an adorable doll that’s soft yet durable, perfect for any age girl. Here I am, 14, and I’m absolutely in love with her! I could imagine any girl being happy with such a cute doll.

See, Zoe isn’t a stick thin figure, and I love that most. She’s made with perfect proportions so no girl will feel ashamed of her own unique body. Zoe is also a very life-like doll. Her eyes look like they’re real and her freckles show her skin isn’t perfect. Her face is nice and round plus her outfit is to die for. She wears bright colors and her smile is just perfect for the attitude she portrays.

Karito Kid Zoe

Her book is fun and has an interesting plot that is sure to hook any girl!

The website is absolutely fabulous, like Polly Pockets but better because you can have your doll and do all these fun things based on her. On top of that, you can collect World Change coins, and donate it to food, health, home or school for kids in need. Tell me that we don’t need that nowadays.

Karito Kids

As you can see, my daughter thinks very highly of Karito Kids. With their stylish fashions and high quality workmanship, it’s easy to see why a young girl would love them.

Karito Kid Zoe

Karito Kids can be purchased through their online store for $99 and once the activation code has been entered, 3% of the suggested retail price can be directed to a favorite cause within the Plan.

Now I had planned on keeping Zoe as a gift for my daughter, but she feels that we should give her away to someone who would have more time to enjoy her. Zoe was only out of her packaging for a brief time so one lucky winner will be getting a brand new Karito Kid that would make an awesome birthday or Christmas gift.

Giveaway!

Enter to Win a Karito Kid:

3-D PakNak Charms Review and Giveaway

My kids love to customize everything they own. They have skins for their techno gadgets, they draw all over their binders, notebooks and even some of my stuff!

PakNak

So when I received my sample PakNaks to review, I intentionally left them out where they could be seen by wandering eyes. Ok, so my 14 yo daughter wasn’t quite as observant and I had to point them out, but nonetheless she loves the Mona and Powder that I had requested for her.

PakNak

These interchangeable 3-D rubbery designs let kids accessorize their backpacks, lunch boxes, notebooks and so much more. They attach to items using PakNak’s Fuzzy Coins which are made from Velcro.

Now my son saw the PakNak’s right away. More specifically Mike the Leafy Monster and started right in with the questions: “What are theessseee?, What do you do with them? You put them on stuff? Oh cool, can I have Mike?”  Well, he liked them so much that he sat down and wrote out his own review, so from a 10 yo’s perspective:

I like PakNaks’ because they’re cool velcrow designs that you can almost stick to anything! I also like them because they give them names and info about them! They’re also cool because they have bright colors that stand out!

PakNak

Now we go on to examples of what you can put them on: You can put them on your lunch box and your backpack or you can put them on your bike or scooter.

PakNak

There are over 40 interchangeable PakNak designs, including holiday themes, and each has it’s own name, a special home, favorite food, best friend and favorite activity. Sizes do vary, but the average seems to be around 2.5″ x 2.5″ and they retail for $3.99 each at PakNak’s online store. Kids can change designs depending on their mood and for holidays.

According to my son, he is going to start collecting these. I think it’s a great accessory to add to a birthday package or stuff in a stocking. The kids will love adding their own kind of “bling” to their stuff.

Giveaway!

PakNak is also graciously offering 12 PakNaks for a giveaway. Three lucky winners will receive (4) PakNaks of their choice. If you’d like to buy some right away, PakNak is also offering a 10% discount - just enter code “PK10″ when placing your order.

Enter to Win (4) PakNaks of Your Choice:

  1. Visit PakNak’s online store, jot down which 4 PakNak designs you think your child would like best.
  2. Come back here and leave that information (4 PakNak designs) in a comment.
  3. Must have a valid email address within the United States (no International entries please)

Earn extra entries by:

  • Subscribing to my RSS Feed via email or reader
  • Blog about this giveaway
  • Add the Free Birthday Treats button to your site (grab it from upper left sidebar)

Leave an additional comment for each extra entry.

Deadline: Midnight, October 6, 2008

I will choose three random winners from participants who have entered correctly and post it on October 7, 2008. I verify subscribers and button placement on blogs.

Winner has 4 days to claim prize otherwise I will choose another.
