Frugal 40th Birthday!

In March, we celebrated my hubby’s 40th. About four days before his birthday, I remember I needed to sign him up for some freebies. Luckily most businesses need only two days to process and send out a birthday email. He received 19 birthday emails ranging from a free prime rib dinner to a free 24 oz. Keva smoothie.

The Keg Free Prime Rib Dinner

Thank goodness these offers were good for his birthday week or month so we could spread them out. First on the list was of course, The Keg’s prime rib dinner with all fixings.

The next night we visited the Cold Stone Creamery to get his free creation. We didn’t take advantage of all the offers, but others on his list were:

  • Souper Salad
  • BJ’s Brewhouse
  • Schlotzsky’s
  • Kincaid’s
  • Z’Tejas
  • Uno’s
  • El Paso Grill & Bar-B-Que
  • Ruby Tuesday’s
  • Buffalo Wild Wings
  • Red Lobster
  • Black Angus
  • The Melting Pot
  • Orange Julius
  • Joe’s Crab Shack
  • Keva Juice
  • Harkins Theatres (no email, just a free popcorn at movies)
  • Sweet Tomatoes

Granted not everyone is going to take advantage of all these offers, but what a list to choose from! Some are desserts, some are free meals and some are discounts. They all add up to savings in your pocket though.

There are several lists floating around the Internet for birthday freebies, just keep in mind that it isn’t always updated and it’s best to check out the business’ website or call before visiting and expecting something that is no longer valid.

I do verify all listings for free or discounted birthday treats on my website and call every 6 months to make sure they are still valid…this doesn’t mean I won’t miss one, although I try hard not to. :)

Anyway, my hubby had a great birthday plus we saved money. Not a bad way to celebrate a 40th birthday!
