Heading to Alaska on your 50th Birthday?
In celebration of Alaska’s 50th birthday, the Alaska Railroad invites anyone who turns 50 in 2009 to take one free ride for a day on the Alaska Railroad. This is a birthday freebie you do not want to miss out on!
To take advantage of this offer, the 50th birthday must fall between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009. The last train actually runs on December 27th.
I’ve ridden the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Prince William Sound where we boarded a marine tour to show us the sights in the bay, then returned to Anchorage. It was truly amazing. Rushing waterfalls, lush forests, glistening lakes, flourishing wildlife and mouth watering delicacies.
Of course, I’m biased…I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and feel that every person should visit there at least once. It’s an experience you will never forget.
So if you’re turning 50 this year and want to take a grand adventure, I’d suggest taking the Alaska Railroad up on their free birthday ride offer.
Side note here, Scott and his team from Alaska HDTV have some amazing Alaska travel videos covering different regions. I watched some of these the other day and was ready to pack my suitcase!
