How much can get done when…
you’re sharing office space with your 10 yr old son? Nothing!!! I’ll let you all in on a secret…my thoughts don’t just roll of my fingertips and onto the keyboard. I sit and I ponder, I type something then erase it, then type again, ponder it some more well…you get the idea! And I usually prefer it to be quiet so I can hear myself ponder…well not today! Today I get to listen to my son sit behind me playing a game he created on Ben 10. This is what I hear: “oooohhhhhh”, “ugggggggghhhhh”, “my game is too hard! I can’t complete the level!”, tapping that is getting harder and harder on the keyboard, bouncing of his legs and then “I pressed up!” which had me turning around because I thought he said “I’m pissed off!”
I finally announce “I have so much work to do, I don’t know where to start!” and he turns to me briefly from his game and says “Just start at a random spot!” and goes right back to his game. Perfect solution to him!
I’d boot him out of here, but it’s hot outside. I figure it’s better for him to be creating games than sitting in front of the TV. So I’m off to find my “random spot” and some earplugs!

I used to have an office. With a space for a school room for my daughter. But then, somehow, I was kicked out and given a laptop and relegated to the kitchen. I’m existing out of a junk drawer…
Oh Kat – not the kitchen!!! Hopefully you have a great view out the windows!
hey there, thanks for stoppin by my site, i love to meet new peeps, ill be back for sure!!!
It’s funny…my kids are wrestling on the family room floor, and generally being loud and obnoxious.. My husband just said to me “I’d kick them outside, but it’s so hot out there!”
I can totally relate!
I can’t get much done with a 4 and 2 year old in my home office either. Naps and late at night are when I squeeze in writing. Your blog is wonderful…I found it on Blog Catalog.
