Thanks to the Family Review Network my daughter and I had the opportunity to review the new iCarly DVD. This DVD not only includes espisodes from season 1, but also has some great special features like Behind-the-Scene Extras and Behind the Slime with the cast of iCarly.

iCarly is definitely a family favorite for us. As a mom, I appreciate being able to sit down and enjoy a show with our tween and teen knowing that there won’t be content that isn’t age appropriate.

My teenager daughter, Mackenzie, has expressed in her own words what she thinks about the iCarly show and DVD:

Carly is a fun, life loving girl that lives life to the very fullest. Nothing can bring her down because she has two amazing friends named Sam and Freddie, along with her crazy older brother Spencer that helps her through anything.

The friends, still in high school, host one of the most popular web shows on the internet: iCarly.com. They do whatever they are in the mood for and are euphoric to show other people what random stuff they can come up with. From messing with Sam’s boyfriends to tricking their love-sickened teacher, these three can do anything they can think up.

I admire how Carly is just so relatable. She’s nice and caring, smart and original and totally down to earth, yet still way up in the clouds.

But, being as the site is so popular, there are tons of people trying to take them down. Carly, Sam and Freddie face loads of obstacles, as comes with all good things.

On these DVDs, there are 12 episodes of non-stop fun consisting of crazy fans, horrible shoes, detention, teachers, and of course, Gibby!

Personally, I love how outgoing Carly is, how fanatical Sam is, and how incredibly intellectual Freddie is. I love how the teachers are weird, Spencer is not only goofy, but amazingly creative and Sam and Freddie are loyal to a fault.

But the best part of all: watching the shows with no commercials. See, I’m one of those people that despise, loath and detest commercials; to get one of my favorite shows commercial free is…it’s…I’m at a loss for words, actually, for how unbelievable, incredible, insane, breathtaking, astonishing, mind-boggling, astounding, amazing, outrageous, indescribable, perfect and…and…flat-out AWESOME (okay, not that lost for words)!!!

I would definitely buy Season 1 Volume 2 of iCarly, no questions asked.

This iCarly DVD can be purchased at just about any retailer. I found it at Amazon for $18.99. While I think this would make a great birthday gift for an iCarly fan, my only drawback would be paying almost $20 for it. In this economy, I’d wait until the price comes down or it goes on sale.
