Unique Skins Product Review and Giveaway
About a year ago, I bought skins for my son and daughter’s electronic gadgets as Christmas gifts. I really wasn’t sure how they would react, but the designs I chose were based on their favorite animals. My daughter is wild about white tigers and my son, at the time, was wild about tree frogs. As it turns out, these gifts made more of an impression with them than anything else and they were much cheaper!
So when Unique Skins asked for some bloggers to review their products, I jumped at the chance having no idea how much fun I would have customizing my own skin for my mobile phone, much to my daughter’s distress. She wanted one for her DS.
I should explain that my poor KRAZR desperately needed this skin so I didn’t have to keep seeing the scratches, pits and dents from the neglect I inflicted upon it the first week I bought it. As a mom, there are times when it’s important for us to be humbled. This was just such a time. I left my KRAZR on the back bumper of our truck while loading up the backpacks. After driving all the way home, I realized I didn’t have it and remembered where I last saw it…yup the bumper. So we rush back up to the school and right there in the middle of the street is my brand new, shiny phone with tire marks on the back of it! I have to give kudos to Motorola here because it only had surface damage and has worked great ever since. That week my daughter misplaced her new, first time phone at school. She didn’t hear a peep out of me! Thank goodness she got it back within a few days though.
With Unique Skins you can either use one of their designs or create one using your own photographs. It is by far one of the easiest platforms I’ve ever used to customize anything online. You can upload your photos, stretch them, shrink them, add new layers and even add text. I had it done within minutes. I actually spent more time locating pictures than I did creating the skin. I received my order within just a few days and was amazed by the quality of the vinyl skin.
Installation was a breeze for my hubby (he is much more of a perfectionist at that stuff than I am). He did wonder if the recessed middle on the face of my phone would affect how well it adhered to it, but there was no issue at all. I really like the custom skin and how it allows me to express myself through the design.
Unique Skins offers custom vinyl skins for game consoles, mobile phones, iPods, MP3 players, laptops and more. Prices range from $6 to $25 depending on the skin. The shipping charges are well within reason.
